Night of Purim

There is an obligation to eat a meal on Purim day, ideally washing for bread and saying birkat hamazon. One is not required to have a special meal on the evening of Purim, but l’chatchila one should do so. (This year, since Purim night falls out on a motzei Shabbat, one can fulfill two mitzvot - seudat Purim and melave malka at the same time.)

Similarly, the mitzva of drinking ‘ad d’lo yadah’ only applies during the day of Purim, but it is a mitzva to drink some wine on Purim night as well.
