Parshat Zachor

Parshat Zachor
Chazal teach us that whatever a person does not think about for a full year, he may forget. Therefore, once a year, both men and women are required to read Parshat Zachor, in which we remember Amalek. Each word must be heard, and if one misses even one word that impacts the concept, he is required to listen again.
Ideally, sefardim should hear the reading from a sefardi ba’al koreh, and ashkenazim from an ashkenazi ba’al koreh. If this is not possible, one still fulfills the obligation with any ba’al koreh.
