May a man wear women’s slippers as a short/temporary measure?

For example, if a man wakes up feeling thirsty late at night, may he use the first pair of available footwear - if they are his wife’s pink slippers - to go get a glass of water?

The question here is if footwear is considered ‘clothing’ according to the halacha and if thus the prohibition of ‘lo yilbash’ applies. In this scenario, it is permitted to use women’s slippers:

a) because it’s footwear.

b) since it’s a short, temporary solution.

c) because it’s worn inside the home and not outside.
