What are the conditions for saying birkat ha’ilanot?
The Gemara in Brachot teaches us that when we see a flowering fruit tree, we must say the bracha of birkat ha’ilanot:
ברוך... שלא חיסר בעולמו כלום, וברא בו בריות טובות
ואילנות טובות, להתנאות בהן בני אדם
The following are the some of the conditions for this bracha: It should be 1) a fruit tree, 2) at the flowering stage, 3) in the month of Nissan, and 4) a single, specific breed tree and not a hybrid fruit tree.
